Friday Night January 15, 2016 vs. The Reading Royals
ELMIRA, NY - January 15, 2016 - The Elmira Jackals were shutout by the Reading Royals 4-0 tonight at First Arena. Elmira has lost three in a row to the Royals and in each game the Jackals have been blanked. Reading is the only team to shutout the Jackals this season.

Scott Tanski put the Royals on the board 4:57 into the contest taking a stretch pass from Adam Comrie through the neutral zone and burying a wrist shot past C.J. Motte on the breakaway. Mike Marcou also added an assist on Tanski's fifth goal of the season.
The Royals added to their lead in the second period with another stretch pass. Brandon Alderson flipped the puck through the middle of the ice finding Joey Sides in stride. Sides had a step on the defenseman and slid a backhand shot past Motte for his third goal of the season.
The Jackals were within striking distance as the third period began but Riley Armstrong's shorthanded marker at 9:33 took the wind out of the team's sail. Justin Crandall started a two-on-one shorthanded rush and found Armstrong for his third goal of the season. Less than four minutes later, Armstrong scored again with a backhand wrap-around effort past Motte to put Reading ahead 4-0. Justin Crandall and Mike Marcou added the helpers on Armstrong's second goal of the night and fourth of the season.
C.J. Motte stopped 24 of 28 shots faced but suffered the loss. Martin Ouellette stopped all 24 shots faced for the win and his third shutout of the season.
